Linda Aiken

Linda H. Aiken is the Claire M. Fagin Leadership Professor of Nursing, professor of sociology, and director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics and research associate in the Population Studies Center. Before joining the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, Aiken was vice president of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Aiken received her bachelors and masters degrees in nursing from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and her Ph.D.

Gloria Bazzoli

Gloria J. Bazzoli is the Bon Secours Professor of Health Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University. She conducts economic research on US hospital operations and the functioning of hospital markets. Dr. Bazzoli has been a lead investigator in several research projects, including studies of financial pressures affecting the hospital safety net and the effects of hospital mergers and closures on markets.

David Blumenthal

David Blumenthal is the President of The Commonwealth Fund in New York. Until 2012, Dr. Blumenthal was the Chief Health Information and Innovation Officer at Partners HealthCare. He is also the Samuel O. Thier Professor of Medicine and physician at The Massachusetts General Hospital/Partners HealthCare System in Boston and professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School. Charles Bosk

Charles L. Bosk is professor of sociology and anesthesiology and critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a fellow of The Hastings Center and in 2013 was recipient of the Leo G. Reeder Award from Medical Sociology Section of the American Sociological Association for distinguished contributions to Medical Sociology. He was elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2013.

Lawrence Brown

Lawrence D. Brown is professor of health policy and management in the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. A political scientist, he received a Ph.D. in Government at Harvard University in 1973. After positions at Harvard, the Brookings Institution, and the University of Michigan, in 1988 he came to Columbia, where he chaired the Department of Health Policy and Management for ten years and the university's Public Policy Consortium for three years.

Lawton Burns

Lawton R. Burns is the James Joo-Jin Kim Professor and Chair of the Health Care Management Department in the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also Director of the Wharton Center for Health Management & Economics. Dr. Burns teaches courses on healthcare strategy, strategic change, organization and management, managed care, and integrated delivery systems. From 1998-2002, he was a Visiting Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine, where he taught corporate strategy to physicians.

Lawrence Casalino

Lawrence Casalino is Chief of the Division of Outcomes and Effectiveness Research and Livingston Farrand Professor of Public Health in the Department of Public Health at Weill Cornell Medical College. His background includes 20 years as a family physician in private practice. He holds a doctoral degree in health services research, with a focus on organizational and institutional sociology and economics. Previously, he was an associate professor with the department of health studies at the University of Chicago. Dr.

Richard Frank

Richard G. Frank returned to his position as the Margaret T. Morris Professor of Health Economics in the department of health care policy at Harvard Medical School. Until March 2011, Dr. Frank was Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy and Evaluation in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). Alan Garber

Alan M. Garber, MD, PhD became Provost of Harvard University in September 2011. He is also the Mallinckrodt Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School, an economics professor in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and a public policy professor in the Kennedy School of Government. Dr. Garber graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College in 1976, and went on to earn AM and PhD degrees in Economics from Harvard University.

Rosalie Kane

Rosalie A. Kane is a professor of health policy and management at the University of Minnesota where she is also a faculty member of the Center for Biomedical Ethics, School of Social Work, and the Center on Aging. Previously she was a social scientist at The Rand Corporation in Santa Monica, California and a faculty member at the University of California at Los Angeles, and before that, at the University of Utah. Dr. Kane's research is devoted to aspects of long-term care services, organization, policies and financing.
