Linda Aiken

Linda H. Aiken is the Claire M. Fagin Leadership Professor of Nursing, professor of sociology, and director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics and research associate in the Population Studies Center. Before joining the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania in 1988, Aiken was vice president of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Dr. Aiken received her bachelors and masters degrees in nursing from the University of Florida, Gainesville, and her Ph.D.

David Blumenthal

David Blumenthal is the President of The Commonwealth Fund in New York. Until 2012, Dr. Blumenthal was the Chief Health Information and Innovation Officer at Partners HealthCare. He is also the Samuel O. Thier Professor of Medicine and physician at The Massachusetts General Hospital/Partners HealthCare System in Boston and professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School. Nicholas Christakis

Nicholas A. Christakis, MD, PhD, MPH, is a social scientist and physician who conducts research on social factors that affect health, health care, and longevity. He directs the Human Nature Lab at Yale University, and is the Co-Director of the Yale Institute for Network Science. He is the Sol Goldman Family Professor of Social and Natural Science at Yale University.

Dalton Conley

Dalton Conley is the Henry Putnam University Professor in the Department of Sociology at Princeton University. Previously, he was Senior Vice Provost and Dean for the Social Sciences. He also holds appointments at NYU's Wagner School of Public Service, as an adjunct professor of community medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). In 2005, Conley became the first sociologist to win the NSF's Alan T. Waterman Award.

Thomas Croghan

Thomas W. Croghan, a nationally recognized expert in the fields of mental health and pharmaceutical policy research, is a senior fellow at Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. His research concentrates on studying access and quality, adequacy of coverage, and outcomes for different groups, in addition to analyzing the capabilities of the health system to provide care for vulnerable populations. Croghan received his M.D. from West Virginia University School of Medicine and comes to Mathematica from the RAND Corporation, where he was a senior natural scientist.

Richard Deyo

Richard A. Deyo is the Kaiser Permanente Professor of Evidence-based Family Medicine at the School of Medicine of Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Deyo, a general internist, was previously professor in the department of medicine and the department of health services at the University of Washington. After residency training in internal medicine, Dr. Deyo completed a fellowship in the University of Washington's RWJF Clinical Scholars Program, during which time he also received a master's degree in public health.

José Escarce

José J. Escarce is professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and senior natural scientist at RAND. Dr. Escarce graduated from Princeton University, earned a master's degree in physics from Harvard University and obtained his medical degree and doctorate in health economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Escarce has served on the National Advisory Council for Health Care Policy, Research, and Evaluation of the Department of Health and Human Services and the National Advisory Committees of RWJF's Harold Amos Medical Faculty Development Program.

Annetine Gelijns

Annetine C. Gelijns is the chair of the Department of Population Health Science and Policy at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Gelijns was the Co-Director of the International Center for Health Outcomes and Innovation Research, and and professor of surgical sciences in the department of surgery, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and the School of Public Health, Columbia University in New York City. Lisa Iezzoni

Lisa I. Iezzoni, MD, MSc, has been named director of the MGH/Partners Mongan Institute for Health Policy (MIHP). Iezzoni has been associate director of the MIHP since 2006 and is a leading authority on risk adjustment for cost and quality measurement as well as health policy and access issues. She has made many contributions to academia, research, and health policy and delivery, including authoring three books and dozens of articles on topics related to assessing severity of illness, measuring complications of inpatient care, and health care disparities affecting persons with disabilities.

Stephen Kunitz

Stephen J. Kunitz. Received his M.D. from the University of Rochester in 1964. After an internship in internal medicine, Dr. Kunitz spent two years as a medical officer at the Indian Health Service hospital in Tuba City, Arizona, on the western end of the Navajo Reservation. It was there that he began working with a medical anthropologist, Jerrold E. Levy, on problems related to alcohol misuse and deviant behavior. Dr. Kunitz received his Ph.D. in sociology from Yale in 1970. His dissertation was based upon continuing fieldwork among Navajo and Hopi Indians.
