John Lynch

John Lynch is professor of public health at the University of Adelaide since early 2011. He is also visiting professor of epidemiology at University of Bristol (UK). He was previously in the department of epidemiology at the University of Michigan and was a Canada Research Chair in the department of epidemiology and biostatistics at McGill University in Montreal. In mid 2008 he returned to Australia and took up an appointment at University of South Australia. He is an internationally recognized scholar in epidemiology and public health with more than 200 publications.

Gerald Markowitz

Gerald Markowitz is distinguished professor of history at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He received his doctorate from the department of history of the University of Wisconsin. He is the recipient of numerous grants from private and federal agencies, including the Milbank Memorial Fund, National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Science Foundation. He won the Viseltear Prize for Outstanding Work in the History of Public Health from the American Public Health Association in 2000.

Harold Neighbors

Harold W. Neighbors is a professor emeritus of health behavior and health education and associate director of the Center for Research on Ethnicity, Culture, and Health, where he is the principal investigator of two NIH training programs, Promoting Ethnic Diversity in Public Health Doctoral Training and the Michigan Bridge to the Doctorate Program. David Rosner

David Rosner is Ronald H. Lauterstein Professor of History and Public Health at Columbia University and co-Director of the Center for the History of Public Health at Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health. He and Gerald Markowitz authored Deceit and Denial: The Deadly Politics of Industrial Pollution (2002). Their newest book entitled Are We Ready?: Public Health since 9/11 appeared on the fifth anniversary of September 11th. He received his B.A. from City College of New York, M.P.H from the University of Massachusetts and his doctorate from Harvard in the History of Science.

Richard Scheffler

Richard M. Scheffler is Distinguished Professor of Health Economics and Public Policy at the School of Public Health and the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley. He also holds the chair in Healthcare Markets & Consumer Welfare endowed by the Office of the Attorney General for the State of California. Professor Scheffler is director of the Global Center for Health Economics and Policy Research as well as director of the Nicholas C. Petris Center on Health Care Markets and Consumer Welfare.

Gary Taubes

Gary A. Taubes is the author of Good Calories, Bad Calories: Challenging the Conventional Wisdom on Diet, Weight Control and Disease. He is a co-founder of the Nutrition Science Initiative. Taubes graduated from Harvard College in 1977 with an S.B. degree in applied physics, and received an M.S. degree in engineering from Stanford University (1978) and in journalism from Columbia University (1981). He began writing and reporting on science and medicine for Discover magazine in 1982.
