Linda H. Aiken is the Claire M. Fagin Leadership Professor of Nursing, professor of sociology, and director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research at the University of Pennsylvania. She is also a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics and research associate in the Population Studies Center. Richard A. Deyo is the Kaiser Permanente Professor of Evidence-based Family Medicine at the School of Medicine of Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Deyo, a general internist, was previously professor in the department of medicine and the department of health services at the University of Washington. After residency training in internal medicine, Dr. Deyo completed a fellowship in the University of Washington's RWJF Clinical Scholars Program, during which time he also received a master's degree in public health.

Iezzoni has been associate director of the MIHP since 2006 and is a leading authority on risk adjustment for cost and quality measurement as well as health policy and access issues. Stephen J. Kunitz. Received his M.D. from the University of Rochester in 1964. After an internship in internal medicine, Dr. Kunitz spent two years as a medical officer at the Indian Health Service hospital in Tuba City, Arizona, on the western end of the Navajo Reservation. It was there that he began working with a medical anthropologist, Jerrold E. Levy, on problems related to alcohol misuse and deviant behavior. Dr. Kunitz received his Ph.D. in sociology from Yale in 1970. His dissertation was based upon continuing fieldwork among Navajo and Hopi Indians.
